About Me

Hey! I'm Elijah. I've been writing music and playing various instruments for the last 15 years or so. I mostly produce and sing/scream, and play enough guitar/bass to write and record songs.

I left the last band I joined (It Kills You) a few months ago, and I'm ready to get a new project going. Maybe vaguely something like Hot Mulligan but with breakdowns and synths? But I'm not super hung up on subgenre or laying out a really tight outline for a sound; I write music that sounds like 2007 emo/post-hardcore with a hint of 2010 Skrillex, and I'm looking for people whose style gels with that.

Note that they aren't necessarily representative of what I expect to do as a band - just examples of what I'm able to do on my own (and in the studio with It Kills You in the case of the one song with them)

"Absence" - I wrote, then rewrote with It Kills You and recorded in Oakwood Studios. This is my most recent work. Everything else I recorded at home. "Stay" is originally by Kid Laroi and "Not in Love" is originally by Crystal Castles. "Feast" is pretty old.

Who I'm looking for

I'm looking for people who are passionate about their art, but are easy to get along with. Personal/interpersonal chemistry is super important. Would like to have people in the band who are down to come hang out at fires in the backyard and go out to shows sometimes and whatnot - I've been in bands before where we were coworkers and not friends and I don't want to do that again.
If you want to play drums, you'll need to be familiar with double kick pedal / metalcore style drumming, or be willing to learn.
If you're a guitarist you get extra points if you can do the tappy midwest emo style lead stuff, I love that style.
